The Simrad ES38-7 is a wide band split beam transducer designed for fishery and fishery research applications.

The beamwidth is 7 degrees at the nominal operational frequency 38 kHz. The transducer is designed with four separate sectors, and includes a sensor to measure the sea temperature.

Simrad ES38-7

The transducer is normally mounted flush with the hull plating or the bottom of a blister. It is provided with an installation flange, and by means of a clamping ring it is secured to a mounting ring welded into the hull plating or the bottom of a blister. The clamping ring is provided with the transducer, and already fitted. The transducer can also be flush mounted at the bottom of a drop keel.

The transducer cable penetrates the hull using a stuffing tube and a cable gland.

The transducer is provided with a dedicated clamping ring. This ring is already fitted to the transducer flange.

Optional items

These optional items are available for the installation. You can manufacture these items yourself, or order them from us. The items are not included with the transducer delivery, and must be ordered separately.

The order number for the transducer cable is included in case the cable fitted to the transducer is too short.

How to access the DWG files

Whenever available, each drawing is provided on both PDF and DWG formats. When applicable, the DWG version of the drawing is included in the PDF file as an attachment.

  1. Open the PDF file in the normal manner.
  2. Observe the "Attachment" icon in the lower left corner.
  3. Click the icon to open the list of attachments.
  4. Click on the DWG file provided, and select required action on the menu above the list.
