R&D project established to optimise gangway operability through new DP philosophy & simulation training

Kongsberg Maritime is working with Norwegian shipping company Østensjo and the Norwegian Marine Technology Research Institute (Marintek) on a new R&D project for operations using motion compensated and telescopic gangways, typically found on accommodation vessels in the offshore sector. The project is part of the Norwegian Government's innovation programme MAROFF (Maritime Activities and Offshore Operations).

New monitoring system for fisheries research based on leading KONGSBERG multibeam technology

The M3 Sonar® (Multimode Multibeam Sonar) from Kongsberg Maritime subsidiary Kongsberg Mesotech Ltd., is now part of a new acoustic transponder tag monitoring system being introduced to the fisheries research community during the American Fisheries Society annual conference in Portland, Oregon this week. This innovative system is the result of engineering cooperation between Kongsberg Mesotech Ltd. and Sonotronics, with application support from Milne Technologies.

KONGSBERG awarded integrated vessel control system package for Nautilus newbuild

Nautilus announces that the contract for the vessel integrated control system (including dynamic positioning and navigation systems) to be used on the Company's Production Support Vessel (PSV), has been awarded to Kongsberg Maritime, located in Norway. This is yet another key contract to be awarded by the shipyard, Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Limited.

UN Secretary General visits Kongsberg Satellite Services

United Nations Secretary General H E Mr Ban Ki-Moon and the Norwegian Foreign Minister Mr Børge Brende visited Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) main ground station for satellite data reception and control Thursday July 8, 2015. The station is located at Longyearbyen Svalbard.

Kongsberg Maritime challenges boundaries with new space-based AIS delivery

On July 8 2015, ESA authorised the delivery of KONGSBERG's fourth generation SAT-AIS Receiver flight models, to the Norwegian Space Centre; for integration into the NORSAT-1 satellite. With this delivery, KONGSBERG further strengthens its position as a supplier of space-based infrastructure in the maritime domain.
