KONGSBERG donates K-Pos dynamic positioning system to NTNU research vessel

Kongsberg Maritime has donated and installed a K-Pos Dynamic Positioning System aboard the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) owned R/V Gunnerus research vessel. The donation and KONGSBERG's continued support of the University was recognised at a VIP ceremony at the NTNU in Trondheim, Norway.

Live on-water demos and new tech from Kongsberg Maritime at Ocean Business 2015

Kongsberg Maritime is demonstrating its latest developments in underwater mapping and subsea positioning technology for survey and subsea construction applications aboard the RV CALISTA and BILL CONWAY vessels on the Solent throughout Ocean Business 2015. A third vessel, GEOMOTION, will also play host to demonstrations of Kongsberg Maritime's extensive multibeam technology portfolio.

KONGSBERG delivers first vehicle with Rockland Scientific turbulence sensor

Kongsberg Underwater Technologies, Inc. (KUTI) has announced that it has delivered the first Seaglider™ vehicle equipped with a Rockland Scientific International (RSI) MicroPod™ turbulence sensor. The vehicle was commissioned by the University of East Anglia in the UK (UEA).

Kongsberg Maritime Ltd joins forces with UK specialists to develop 'Normally Unattended' solutions for marginal fields

Kongsberg Maritime Ltd and ABT Oil and Gas Ltd (ABTOG) (50% owned by Enegi Oil Plc) have signed a collaboration agreement to work together on a Proof of Concept to demonstrate the effectiveness of normally unattended operations of facilities for the development of marginal fields. ABTOG's Marginal Field Initiative is based on the premise that the utilisation of ABTOG's appropriate re-deployable technology and normally unattended operations will significantly reduce capital and operational expenditure.

Record depths for Hugin AUV during integrated subsea positioning and communication system testing in Bali

Kongsberg Maritime has successfully completed the Customer Acceptance Testing for the first delivery of its HUGIN Autonomous Underwater Vehicle with a new cNODE integrated subsea positioning and communication system. During the testing of the innovative new package, which took place during Quarter 1, 2015 in the deep waters outside the coast of Bali, Indonesia, and the Indian Ocean, HUGIN reached a record operational depth of 4449 metres.

Kongsberg Maritime acquires Contros Systems & Solutions GmbH

Kongsberg Maritime has acquired the remaining 90% of the shares of the Germany based underwater chemical sensors specialist Contros Systems & Solutions GmbH. Contros was established in 2006 and is based in Kiel, close to Hamburg. The company develops, produces and markets underwater sensor systems to detect dissolved gasses such as hydrocarbons, CO2 and oxygen, as well as pH and total alkalinity.

World's largest construction vessel ready for action with KONGSBERG DP, bridge and automation systems

Following its inauguration ceremony in Rotterdam on 27th February 2015, Allseas' Pioneering Spirit will start its first job offshore Norway this summer with an integrated Dynamic Positioning (DP) and manoeuvring system based on state-of-the art Kongsberg Maritime technology. The Kongsberg Maritime delivery includes forward and aft bridge systems in addition to an extensive automation network and the HiPAP subsea position reference system.

New wind turbine service jack-up vessel delivered to DBB with a KONGSBERG 'Full Picture' technology package

The new 'Wind Server' Wind Turbine Service Jack-Up Vessel was delivered to owner DBB Jack-Up Services in December 2014, with a full complement of Kongsberg Maritime control and automation technology on board. Built at Nordic Yards in Wismar, Germany, Wind Server went into operation maintaining offshore wind turbines throughout Northern Europe in February 2015.
