Kongsberg Maritime acquires Contros Systems & Solutions GmbH

Kongsberg Maritime has acquired the remaining 90% of the shares of the Germany based underwater chemical sensors specialist Contros Systems & Solutions GmbH. Contros was established in 2006 and is based in Kiel, close to Hamburg. The company develops, produces and markets underwater sensor systems to detect dissolved gasses such as hydrocarbons, CO2 and oxygen, as well as pH and total alkalinity.

World's largest construction vessel ready for action with KONGSBERG DP, bridge and automation systems

Following its inauguration ceremony in Rotterdam on 27th February 2015, Allseas' Pioneering Spirit will start its first job offshore Norway this summer with an integrated Dynamic Positioning (DP) and manoeuvring system based on state-of-the art Kongsberg Maritime technology. The Kongsberg Maritime delivery includes forward and aft bridge systems in addition to an extensive automation network and the HiPAP subsea position reference system.

New wind turbine service jack-up vessel delivered to DBB with a KONGSBERG 'Full Picture' technology package

The new 'Wind Server' Wind Turbine Service Jack-Up Vessel was delivered to owner DBB Jack-Up Services in December 2014, with a full complement of Kongsberg Maritime control and automation technology on board. Built at Nordic Yards in Wismar, Germany, Wind Server went into operation maintaining offshore wind turbines throughout Northern Europe in February 2015.

Kongsberg Maritime launches new and improved EM 710 multibeam echo sounder

Kongsberg Maritime has launched an advanced MK-II version of its de facto industry standard EM® 710 multibeam echo sounder. The new EM 710 MK-II sets new standards for seabed survey by increasing range and swath coverage over the original EM 710 by up to 40%.

Kongsberg Maritime deliver welding cameras for remote pipeline repair system

Kongsberg Maritime Camera Group has designed, manufactured & delivered a new underwater video camera for use on an advanced subsea Remote Pipeline Repair System (RPRS). The cameras are specifically designed to monitor the welding arc and welding pass in an unmanned hyperbaric welding habitat, when operating to depths of 1,500msw.

Kongsberg Maritime underwater image competition winners announced

Kongsberg Maritime has selected the winners of ‘The Full Picture Photo and Video Competition', which ran from 26th August until 30th November 2014. With iPad Minis on offer as prizes and the chance for some entries to be used in Kongsberg Maritime marketing activities, the company's international camera user-base submitted a wealth of fantastic underwater stills and video. Visitors to the Kongsberg Maritime booths at this week's Underwater Intervention 2015 in New Orleans and Subsea Expo 2015 in Aberdeen can see some of the best entries on display.

KONGSBERG Underwater Mapping group trains future hydrographers in Japan

Kongsberg Maritime has contributed to an extensive hydrography training course taking place in Japan. The company's Underwater Mapping group supported the international cooperation effort by supplying training on state-of-the-art Kongsberg Maritime shallow water multibeam survey equipment.
